23. Jackie Holliday

I’ve said on this site several times that my favorite North American bird happens to be the same as my mother’s was—the Cedar Waxwing. But I think the bird that makes me most jealous is the Bluebird. I have so much envy for people who have them around their homes on a regular basis. I always feel so good when I see one and therefore I feel so good for Jackie that she took such a tremendous picture of one. Mostly, this picture makes me happy—for Jackie. It is such a great bird photograph! It takes lots of out of focus pictures to take a good sharp one like this (at least it would for me) but when it’s razor sharp and the bird is carrying food home to a baby (making it a story telling picture) and the light is beautiful, it’s just happiness for the photographer. Way to go!
