#17. Terri Van Den Einde
I like this photograph so much because it’s dramatic and well-composed. Obviously, the lighting is beautiful, too. But the photograph itself is so unusual.
We’ve had so many pictures of football players posted here over the years and there have only been a few that consisted of a player in the field of competition. It’s almost a relationship picture; an athlete and the place he competes.
You can read pretty much anything you want to into this. It really gets the imagination going. Is it a practice? Was it a game? Did they win or lose? The picture doesn’t give us that information.
What we know is that he’s alone with himself and the thoughts that go with it, regardless of the circumstances, football is tough.
