#2 – Leila Thompson Flavell
Very simply, this photograph is world-class. If the entire Internet had a Fan Photo of the Day this would still be a contender. There are National Geographic photographers who would go to sleep at night with a warm feeling in their belly if they knew this one was in the can. I know I don’t need to tell you how good this is, but it’s really really good. As with so many great photographs, luck had something to do with it but luck is not its defining characteristic.
